Jen is a full-time mom, designer, calligrapher and co-founder of a local small business in Greenville, South Carolina. Jen is a proud graduate of Clemson University with a B.A. in Sociology. Shortly after graduating she moved to San Clemente, California where she began her unexpected career as a nanny, eventually leading her to Switzerland to live and work as an au pair. During her career as a nanny she cared for a child with a neurological disorder, which introduced her to the world of special needs long before she had kids of her own. She is now back in her hometown of Greenville, SC where she lives with her husband, Dan, and two daughters, Ivy and Elsie.
Elsie was diagnosed with SYNGAP1 through Whole Exome Sequencing in July of 2020. Jen quickly joined the SynGAP community to learn more about the disorder and gained invaluable insight from parents and volunteers from SynGAP Research Fund. Jen now volunteers her time with SRF with the hopes of supporting the organization in its mission to accelerate science to find a treatment or cure for our kids.
